One of the important capabilities of a Li-Ion battery charger is the ability to monitor the internal temperature of that battery using the circuitry of the battery. That's why, for Fujifilm's own chargers, there are three contacts labeled (+), (T). and (-). They correspond to the battery's (+), (T), and (-) contacts. (You can probably figure out what the "T" stands for.) The faster the charger, the more critical that thermal information is.Before I made this purchase, a made some careful requests of Rufus, making sure that I was asking about having three contact pins in each of the two charging pockets. Rufus responded in the affirmative, stating that the charger used the battery's internal circuitry.Now, several days later -- after my charger arrived and I examined it -- Rufus has changed his story.I'm aware of only one other manufacturer, besides Fujifilm, that monitors the battery's internal temperature. This "might" be less of a problem when using Fujifilm's own batteries, but with counterfeits and knock-off batteries the risks may be greater.
